Spicy Turkey Burger Salad
This is a super tasty and lean salad. If you've got access to a grill, it makes for a great lunch or dinner that comes together quickly. You can also grill up the paddies in advance, refrigerate, and microwave for a quick lunch (but it's never as good as straight off the grill 🙂 ). We get our piqué from Sol Food in San Rafael, but if you need an online version Amazon stocks it here

- Prep Time : 15 minutes
- Cook Time : 8 minutes
- Yield : 2 servings
Ingredients
- ground turkey thigh - 1 lbs.
- harissa - 1 tsp.
- soy sauce - 1 tbs.
- salt - 1 tsp.
- garlic - 2 cloves
- butter leaf lettuce - 1 head
- great northern beans - 1 can
- pique - to taste (Puerto Rican hot sauce) NOTE: If spicy is not your thing, a nice Italian dressing goes well with this too.
Instructions
Put turkey in a large bowl with harissa, soy sauce, and salt. Stir until well-mixed.
Clean the lettuce and arrange on dinner plates. Drain the beans and add to salad.
Heat your grill up to high heat. Form the turkey into two large paddies. Put the turkey on the grill and grill until cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. After you flip the burgers the first time, smear the side you just cooked with the garlic paste.
Remove paddies from grill and top salad with them. Pour your dressing (the pique or Italian dressing) on top and serve.
